The Book List VS. The Never Ending To-Do List

I'm an avid reader and I love reading all different sorts of books.  Unfortunately, I don't always have the time to read running to a from different meetings, classes, and rehearsals while trying to balance homework. Something needs to be painfully cut, which forces me to fall behind on my reading list... way behind.

However! Next quarter I'm going on Co-op next quarter!!! In theory I will have lots of this thing called free time because I won't have to do homework!! Woo Hoo!

Thus my Spring Quarter Reading List:

1. A Clash of Kings by George R.R. Martin
(Book 2 in A Game of Thrones, I warned you I was far behind!!)

2. A Storm of Swords by George R.R. Martin
(Book 3 in A Game of Thrones)

3. A Feast for Crows by George R.R. Martin
(Book 4 in A Game of Thrones)

4. Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden

5. Save Haven by Nicholas Sparks

6. The Help by Kathryn Stockett

7. Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close by Jonathan Safran Foer.

Now I'm not so naive to think that I will actually get through my list (I frequently fill up my time with anything I can) but I think this is also a good start!

Hope I got you interested in some good books and I'm always up for suggestions!

Wedding Scrapbook

While I was surfing I found this wonderful work of art!

It looks as though the artist used buttons, a cricket machine (for the decoration around the LOVE) or a cute pair of decoration scissors, two different paper layouts, heart stickers, small pink bows, and wonderful pictures of the bride and groom!

Sepia or Black and White photos add the perfect touch to this color scheme and the pink bows add a wonderful touch of color!

A Doll House

Currently, I am working on a theatre project produced by the RIT Players and the College of Liberal Arts.  I am Mrs. Linde and the Advertising and Public Relations Coordinator in the show.  My friends from the RIT Players are also in it:

Nora: Jenifer Krist
Torvald: Tom Praderio
Krogstad: Joe Plock
Dr. Rank: Peter Janak
Helene: Michelle Smith
Anne Marie: Allie Trimbolli
Delivery Boy: Joey Natalzia

Directed by: Jerry Artgetsinger

If you don't know the play, it is a three act Ibsen.  The play was extremely controversial when it was first published, as it was centered around the Women's Rights Movement of the 19th century that was happening in Sweden.

The play follows the life of Nora and Torvald Helmer over the course of a week or two.  It begins with a house typical of that time, Torvald has just gotten a promotion at the bank he currently works at and the family is moving up in socioeconomic status.  When Mrs. Linde (my character!) arrives, Nora feels the need to reveal her largest secret to Mrs. Linde, that she has borrowed money without her husband's permission (something that was illegal in this time).  The show follows Nora's struggle to keep the secret from her husband for the person she has borrowed the money from (Krogsted) threatens to revel her secret and that she has forged the signature of her father.  Nora begins a frivolous, naive woman and finds the courage to leave her traditional position in the home to discover the world and its unjustice.

If you want to have a more in depth analysis of the show, you can read more about it at SparkNotes.

Or!

You can come to the show!

Welcome!

As a part of my New Year's Resolution (in addition to the reoccurring lose weight resolution), I made a promise to myself to start a new blog about the happenings of 2012 and to update and use more of my social media sites (Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn).

So here we go! I will be frequently posting about my preparation to travel to Europe this summer as well as the experience, scrapbooking projects and tips, wedding tips (not because I am engaged but because I am obsessed with weddings), advancements in social media (I'm an Advertising and Public Relations major), cute pictures I find on the Internet and a little more on whatever I feel like!

I hope you enjoy as much as I will posting!
